Cooper stt muds on current truck they are OK. Bfg a/t on last truck, OK too. Discount tire direct.

Little late to the thread but here are my thoughts.
The OEM tires on the 3/4-tons on that era lasted 70-80k miles if you were just driving and nothing serious with hauling and towing. They were BFG Rugged trails. Not really a great tread design, but both ford and dodge used them as OEM on the 3/4-tons back in the 04-05-06 range and I saw many trucks with 70k+ on the OEM tires.
For me on my dually, all that thing does is haul, tow, and plow snow, so I dont expect great tire life. 265-70-17E are wider than OEM but same height/circumference. I had replaced the fronts a few years ago with a pair of used Michelin LTX MS tires for a killer price. I really liked that tread pattern, but didnt want to pay Michelin prices when shopping for the 4 rears.
So I got 4 of these which are close in pattern and made in USA to boot CooperMastercraft - Courser HXT
From a local shop they were 165ea + tax. So mount balance, OTD total for 4 was ~$706.
Whats not to like? Made in America, affordable, local, 50k tire.
The local place I use also deals in ag tires, ATV tires, etc. They are always cheaper than anywhere else I call, even cheaper than prices online. Looking online fools you into thinking tires are affordable but then that shipping is a killer. A place that gets a semi load of tires weekly....gets them shipped for way less than you or I trying to get 4 tires.
So my advice, find a local shop that sells mastercraft tires

I've been very happy with the Yokohama GEOLANDAR A/T's on my 02 super duty. I had a little over 100K on the first set and about 55K on the current set. Looking at the tread I figure I'll hit 100K on this set as well. They have a 60K tread warranty.

Same here, both the Raptor and the F-350 are now running KO2s, and cost me about the same. The F-150 tires are LT315/70R17S which is the original tire for this truck. Just got the new set of KO2s on the Raptor last week. With LOF, new air filter, and alignment plus the tires mounted and balanced total was $1256. The F-350 tires are load range E and ride hard. I get good performance in snow and the tires have been quiet at any speed I have run. The original set of Raptor KO tires lasted 55,600 miles.

Ended up with Kumho's Road Venture AT51 with load range 121/118 . Sears had another sale , which I ended up with a final price of $618 mounted , lifetime balance and disposal of old tires . I have only put on maybe 24 miles driving it this weekend , mostly pulling the B.T. 12LX to Lowes and back . Rides smooth , No tire noise and traction seems to be decent also .
I backed up the hill from our driveway to a storage shed , usually had to put it in 4 wheel drive , not so much that is was muddy , but the angle of attack and wet grass would cause the rear end to lose grip . I could go up it forwards with the old tires without 4 wheel drive , but not backwards . These just backed it straight up to the shed .
I had a set of Kumho's on my steer axle of my semi that lasted what seemed like forever . They were still on that truck when I traded it in . So with tha , I will see how these do , most likely , they will dry rot or weather check before I ever wear them out . Cut back on my son borrowing my truck . He can use the wifes car and wear her tires out . :thumbsup:
