To fire up the short hoods and Red Faces, you need to bring some of Shields favorite spirits:drink: from the same year. That's only fair.:welcome:
I have no liquids from that era whether they are ingestible or not! Maybe some bearing grease.

Only one I have at home right now that is running is the 1954 Short hood. My 1966 Red Face has been in Seattle since January.:mad::mad::mad:

OMG!, I am so old.. one more generation, and the children will not even know what that object(rotary dial phone) is let alone how to use it.

And yet we still say "dial" a phone number, and probably will for some time.

I believe he is just hamming it up for the camera:D. That kid is dead serious when it comes to welding! And yes he can flat weld. He use to post over on Welding Web, but haven't seen him in awhile. I think his name is Travis?

I'd pull the spark plugs, and fill the cylinders with Marvel Mystery Oil, and let it set for a week or so. Then see if you can turn it over by hand. That puppy is in great shape, far as looks:cool2:. If you ever get it to run, and weld, hold on to it with a death grip!;)
Ive actually talked with him a few times, and yes he hams it up for the camera. Likes to have fun like a wrestler in a interview he says. In real life tho he dont even curse and is all about welding and the trade and welcomes anybody to training with his machines at his facility on his time off. Hes a stand up talented guy in my book. And he makes me laugh, how could you not like the kid. The guys on weldingweb would hammer the snot out of the guy and it would piss me off to no end. Hobbyists rat packing one of the best field welders i ever saw. Bunch of chumps sometimes.

I for one thought his video was awesome! I replayed "learning to strike an arc" countless times.
