<rant>Ditto, Lets not start the CDL, no CDL bs again. If your scared get the license. Don't preach to everyone else about it. </end rant>

Currently in PA however, and correct me if i'm wrong, if you are over 17k GCW, you need a medical card. Lets face something else. Majority of people on here are non-commercial and dont need a cdl with a half ton truck pulling a 10k trailer with their stuff. The people running dually's are pretty serious about towing and don't need a lecture about it.

I didn't mean to start something...

I started to write a bit more, but I think I'd better not step in any more doo-doo than I already have.

Davel, Its not a big deal. It just always seems to be the topic of choice anytime someone mentions pulling a heavy trailer with a pick-up. I didn't mean to sound like I was jumping all over you, but the subject has been beaten to death repeatedly. You are correct with the weight however. For the occassional time that someone is pulling something I dont think it is justified to have to go through the process of getting a cdl. (is that illegal? yes) If it was going to be for a business or more than an accidential/slightly intentional going over the threshold weight, then I completely agree with you. Again, I apoligize.

I have a CDL and drive a "big rig" for a living. I agree with RedNeck whole hardheartedly. And yes, it's beaten to death here.

Thanks for all the replies!!

I have decided to hold off for a while, my neighbor has two trailers I can borrow any time. I won't be moving anything until spring anyway...

Ok so I have an F250 which would be 3/4 ton. Do you guys think I can haul a GN with a 24' deck and my 5093E with an H260 loader on it if I was careful?
