Prokop; your fellow countrymen have all bases covered on snacks with Beer! :D:D

I would think so:)

It was always interesting to take an American for whole night pub tour in Prague. After about 4 beers they would eat even head cheese and similar stuff:D

I don't recall ever eating any head cheese, but the recipes I've read didn't sound bad at all; just more trouble than I'd consider them to be worth.:D

Here ya go Wedge.

1 cup vinigar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tea spoon salt
1-2 table spoons pickling spices
1 ring bologna

Mix all but the bologna in a pan and bring it to a boil for about 5 minutes.

cut bologna in to chuncks and put into a big glass jar.

Poor the liquid over once it has cooled and put a lid on it and put it in the refrigerator.

You can it it after a few days but the longer you let it sit the better it gets.

I havE also added onions and peppers to it.

You have to try Pickeled turkey gizzards.

Pigs feet are OK. The Gizzards are the best.

I'd never even heard of pickled turkey gizzards. I am very fond of fried chicken gizzards, but the turkey gizzards always get boiled along with the heart and liver, to then be chopped up in giblet gravy. I don't think I've ever eaten a turkey gizzard any other way.

Dang... Bought some a few weeks ago and they were so good... Bought some beet pickles today, ate half of then and added eggs... Cheap and good snacks (No redneck jokes please).

What are the pickled eggs like? My BIL used to eat them, but I never did.

I do like pickled garlic though :D

I'll hijack my own threat... use to like the local KFC chicken liver dinners in Virginia, went to San Diego KFC and asked if they had chicken liver dinners as I didn't see them on the menu... those girls looked at me like I was crazy!

I just about lived on KFC chicken as a student. I'd get the liver dinner fairly often. Frying chicken livers at home can be a real adventure. The wife does if very seldom because of the flying grease, but I do love 'em. The KFCs in Tennessee and here in Missouri all seem to have the livers.

Done aint be in this here part of Californy :D

My Momma made the best livers and gizzards; fry em up a bit, them simmer them in a nice thick gravy. That was out on the outskirts of Orangevale, not in the more socialist part of the state :D Orangevale had more horses per capita then, than anywhere else in Ca back then... Said so on the Chamber of Commerce and FAA sign board at the edge of town :D

The last time I saw, KFC in Folsom had livers. Last time I had them though, way too salty.

My Mom's recipe sure is good. She does not make it often, but when she does, yum :D

Not sure how good it is for you though, eating filter organs

Mom used to fry chicken livers and gizzards. She got to eat all of them. I tried them but they tasted nasty.:p I love calves liver and onions, but I never could develop a taste for chicken livers. Funny how you can absolutely love one kind of liver and hate another kind. I cannot stomach that goose liver deli meat either. I wouldn't have a weight problem if that was all there was to eat.:D

From every deer I kill I make a liver dinner to celebrate. I am the only one in the family who eats it - them Americans, you know :) - actually I am an American too now - - but everybody admits it smells great. My son tries little bit every time, I will turn him my way when he kills his first deer :)
