pickup hitch problem

Hi i have a 2140 4WD and the pickup hitch bolts keep slackening off. and now one of the bolts well not tighten up i have put new bolts and washers in with lock tight i have even put fresh paint in them has any one else had the same problems they still keep coming loose thanks.

is that like the 3pt lift arms?

based on what you describe i have NO idea what bolts you would be talking about.

Perhaps some pics?

FYI as it seems to be a question about your John Deere, the JD guys over in the JD forum might have a better idea.

And, I can't figure out what bolts you are talking about, either... agree, need photo...then am sure you'll get good advice...you have done the typical things, so we need more information.

The problem might be it's too high.

It sounds like he has a stripped thread in a casting, if it was a nut and bolt application replacing both would solve it. Unfortunately, locktite and paint are no substitute for threads, and the only solution will be to punch it out to the next oversize, or helicoil it if size is critical.
