There are several barns in this area that look very similar to the one I posted. One that we looked at was about 100 years old.

That barn is in WI. The gaps between planks are exaggerated by the sunlight coming through. The interior stays dry and snow-free. The new wood in the north end wall is a repair where a 2013 tornado sucked the whole end off. The big snows this spring brought down a few area barns but this one is still fine. The clear-span plank construction is pretty impressive.

The yellow barn is just a barn. The house, also yellow, sits up on a hill across the road. I wish I took a picture of it. It is a huge mansion, very impressive. The views from Darling Rd where these barns reside are amazing. Interestingly no matter what I did some of the pictures always were upside down, until you click on them.

Well this is nothing close to a barn but is a link to the "yellow house" that I failed to take a picture of. The yellow barn is beautiful but the matching house is amazing.
