Spreader Pics of the Herd 5.5 Sand Spreader

One thing you see around here are these large (huge) blocks made by a local concrete block manufacturer, that people stack up to make U shaped bins. They will put mulch, gravel, stone, sand in these bins. You can run your loader in there and get a full bucket. I always thought it would be nice to have a few of these bins built somewhere on my place and have them loaded up with raw materials, like stone, sand, mulch etc that I might use in building projects, etc. If you had something like that with a roof over the top, you could stand back and laugh at that icy driveway.

Here she is loaded for bear.

narcnh,
I appreciated your comments and pictures from 2003. I also have a B7800 and am considering the Herd 5.5 to throw rock salt on my driveway. I have a 1/4 mile long steep driveway and ice/freezing rain is more of a problem for me than snow. Are you still happy with your tractor & Herd spreader? Have the chains given you good traction on ice?
