Would you guys be interested in a pictorial of breaking a horse? A local paper is doing a story on our operation. One of the things they wanted was to see how we break our horses. I thought I would post some of the pics and some commentary if you guys were interested.

I personally would like seeing the photographs. I have a 1 year old paint that will need breaking in about a year. We have been working with the colt putting light weight on her back, empty addle etc.

Don't have any horses and probably never will, but I think it'd be interesting none the less.

Pictorial? You mean breaking a horse is not done like it is in the movies? I thought you just jumped on, let it buck you for about 10 seconds and then it settles down and becomes the perfect trail horse. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd be interested to see the "real" steps involved.

No, no no....you saw the wrong movie. All you do is whisper in its ear for a minute and then you go off and run the Kentucky Derby the next day. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No I'm pretty much just a meat and potatoes person. Most all of that stuff is just to sell equipment, books and videos.

Richard,

Really fabulous idea/offer. Could you possibly post the series (with comments) over in the new Photos section? That way, it will live a long life and not get "buried" under another 100,000 messages. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hakim,

How much commentary can you make there? Some of the pics will require a bit of description to accurately get an idea of what is going on.

Richard,
I would love to see this, so i can see what difference there is in methods between there and here. I broke many horses in for harness racing back in 80s.
