You should be very proud of your work, it is simple, strong and effective, what more can anyone ask for. For example, a screw driver doesn't need all kinds of extra's to be effective, it just needs to do one job very well and stop trying to use it for a hammer. Wishing you many years of good service from your welding table, good job well done.

The most Important thing u did, {IMO}. Is that you left an overhang,..So u can easily use a C clamp. Thats probably the most over looked/neglected feature when building a welding table I have seen. very good welding table u built there.

The table hits my belt line when standing next to it. I'm 5'10 and this is perfect for welding in standing postions. The table is 38" inches high with the 1/8" plate and 3 inch wheels. I measured for 2" wheels and made the table frame then went out and bought bigger wheels and ended up cutting about 2 inches off the legs to make it fit me right. Make sure you get the wheels first and make it according the wheels you have. It's got a 1/4" plate for a table top which I never dreamed it would be too heavy for me to lift. I did all the work by myself including the lifting. I'm glad I did not go bigger or thicker. I weighs a ton. The wheels are good for 300 lbs but I bet it weighs 300 or more. Also I ended up going out and buying a chop saw after cutting making bad cuts and trying to straighten them out with a grinder.

A suggestion: Add a piece of 3"x3"x1/4" angle iron along one side or end. Great to align pieces IE: pipe, othe angle and so on 1/4" plate weighs 10.2 lb per Sq. Ft., 1/2" weighs 20.4 per Sq. Ft. the 3x3 angle weighs 4.9 lbs/ft. As a Weldor, Fabricator, Fab Shop owner, I used 1/2" tops but my Tables were 5'x 20' and were used heavily and Daily. Be sure it sits solid so it is safe for Loading & moving your projects. My Tables were bolted into the slab floor. Any long work was supported at the overhanging end(s). Retired now with a Kubota for fun & work. EH

This is my next project. I see a lot of design ideas coming from your table. Great work by the way.

Here's one i made out of scrap. I will probably end up cutting the lip off it when I actually use it for a welding table. for now it makes a great mobile work bench.

Definitely a thousand ways to make them, mine are just scrap tacked together as needed.

Great job. I want one myself. If I wait until I can afford the one I want I will most likely wait a while. I worked on one that had 4in pipe bolted to the crete floor for legs, 6in channel for the frame and 1in plate for a top. Tack weld things to it, beat it with a sledge, it didn't matter. Grind the welds off and it was flat again. Again good job.

I built one similar but made the wheels so they rotate up and down so its solid for the bench vice. Now has some other shelves and a tool box on the left side. 4 outlets under the vice give an easy spot to plug grinders and such into.

I like the idea of having it up on rubber wheels when welding on wet days. My tables sit on the dirt which means that the ground is everywhere, not just the table and part you are welding....
