hi guys, thank you &
after reading your comments & talking with a good friend gkh7890 i am going to scrap my idea & go with something like gary & gkh suggests a rectangular box welder to the bottom of the frame. gkh came up with another idea he may post tonight. i will xplain why i want to lift the blade higher.

before i continue on as gwdixon a new thread, ok how do i do that. ??

At the top right of the "Welding" forum there is a box that says "Forum Tools".
Click on that and a drop down box will say "Post a New Thread". Click on that.

OR

At the bottom of the page is a box that states "New Thread". Click on that.

Striking am arc is similar to light a match. Also play with your welder settings Your heat. Having it right helps alot. Too hot your arc just burns away quickly, too cold and you stick it. In welding class you would do nothing but striking an arc the first day. It becomes second nature. You may try Youtube for a little help as well. Alot of instructional clips on there. Good luck.
