The only disadvantage for a tractor owner buying a chain brush cutter is the HP needed to run it. My 55 hp tractor isn't big enough.
Why not? I'm running one on my 35HP tractor. Obviously I won't mow crazy thick stuff with it.

I've done 3" easily on soft stuff like mimosas and up to 2", 2.5" on pretty much anything else. Hard or soft.

You buy the cutter to match the tractor and mow brush accordingly to the setup you have.

I only looked at one link about chain brush cutters.

This forestry brush cutter is specially designed for brush and scrubland clearance, creation of pastures and cleaning up natural areas. It is designed for use with tractors from 60 to 120 HP and with working widths of between 1400 and 2000mm.

Another dufus on ignore.
How am I talking down on people? Probably just having a rough day. It's Monday after all. Alrighty then. Have a good day.

I have bee doing mowing jobs with the tractor and mostly driveway jobs with the skid steer, but I slid in a forestry mowing job today and it was full of hidden flint rocks and fence wire, metal, junk, etc, another couple more like this one and I am gonna need some new blades and probably a few more carbide teeth, anyhow here are a couple of before and after photos, I usually try to leave a little better finished product but the owner wanted me to cover as much ground as possible, so there is a little larger residue than normal.

What does the underside of your cutter look like? Are you running a disc mulcher?

Here is a picture of the underside of my forestry mower, it has two 3/8 " blade carriers with the blades sandwiched in between so if you hit something hard the blades will swing back between the blade carriers, I was thinking about buying a disc mulcher but so far I am able to do a really good job processing the material with my mower and the carbide teeth on the bottom of the blade carrier by back dragging over the material. It definitely doesn't leave as fine of mulch as a drum mulcher but it didn't cost me 30k either, I still may get a disc mulcher for cutting down big stuff but for now this is getting it done.
