As requested here is a picture of my new to me BX1850 and my old JD 112. It is about 450 ft to the back fence so they should have room to roam.

Lessons learned in the first few hours of use.

1) You can press all day long with your left foot and never find the clutch.
2) Pressing on what used to be the brake with your right foot does NOT slow you down either:eek:
3) This a fun little machine to operate once you get your club feet under control.:D

Kub's around 450 lbs heavier and 33 years younger so he would probably have a better chance. Just hope Kub's as tough and dependable as the old Deere has been.

Nice! My Grands are 5 and I taught them to say Orange pulls Green when they first learned to talk.:)

I'm a orange/green owner also. I've had JDs for thirty years starting with a 140. My orange trend started seven years ago. It's a good combination.

And I'm not trying to start a brand war, but you've got the flagship of John Deere's lawn/garden tractor fleet in the 112. The Kubota cannot stand up to that kind of durability and lifespan.

Having started using HST thirty years ago with the 140 I still have vivid memories of stomping the floorboard looking for the clutch!!! Hard habit to break. Now when using my gear drive L4400 I find myself lifting my right foot to stop!!! Us old guys just don't adapt very well huh.

I'll bet my 1982 Case 448 can beat your JD112. But how will we ever know? :D But I doubt that I'll be around long enough to see if the Kubota BX2660 is better than my Case which is still working at towing, shoving, mowing and snowing:(

John, you forgot the smiley face...... :)

I come up with that based on the simplicity of the 112. Mathematics alone tell me the Kubota will have far more problems that will combine to end it's useful, productive life quicker than the simple, tried and true 112. Has absolutely nothing to do with paint color or name on the hood.

His 112 was produced somewhere in the 70s. That would make it somewhere in the 30-40 year old range. Show me a BX that old???
