I think that a lot of issues arise from some people not having been there. It's sad that we have lost so many family farms. Once they left the farm they never went back and their children never had the chance to experience the life. Probably the father never spoke nice of the farm because it is hard to remember the good times when you lose something. Inflation caught the family farmer in a bad spot. The hard work never caught up with the rising costs of living. You had to have the money or leverage to go big time or the small farm couldn't pay for itself. So sad...
The good news is that people are looking to get back to those times when life seemed simpler. So the small guy may find a way to succeed again. Organics are becoming more popular and let's hope that it is more than a fad.
