We're out spreading anti-skid now using the big Agrex PTO spreader. So far it works GREAT! I mounted the optional remote flow control box inside the cab rather than out back and I can feather the rate of material spread just right.
I highly recommend the Agrex cone spreader-just make sure you get the optional agitator and remote flow control. Few hundred extra bucks makes this attachment a pleasure to use. Takes a little while to mount the flow control valve, but now glad I did.

Builder, Can you post some pics of your sanding job. i would like to see what kind of coverage you got.. how many passes.. etc..

Thanks in advance.

Builder,
I have a similar sized 3pt spreader, since you have much more snow experience than I have I would ask what you are using for antiskid material?
I was thinking of using coarse sand?

I use limestone rice & salt mixed together about 60% limestone rice & 40% salt.

Coarse sand will probably work, but I have customers who want rock salt, too.

I don't have any pics....

After a little tweaking, I was able to spread my anti-skid mix in one pass. I opened the spreader gate to "4" out of "8" and that was about enough.

So much more efficient.

In western PA a good snow is 8" to 12". Last year we did get a little over 2' in one snow and several years ago we got about 3' in one snow. Here is my new setup and can't wait to try it. This means we won't get any snow this winter.

Where did you get this plow? I'm looking for just the mount to attach a Meyer plow to my loader.

81!!

How can you stand it? That's hot, muggy, sticky mosquitoes and sunburn weather. ;)

Recently had this 6 foot (180cm) rear blade made for my JD 4400 by a local machinery dealer. Have had about 2 foot of snow already this winter but blade arrived as snow started to recede. Front loader did a good enough job on short drive (40 yards). Have to wait for next lot of snow to try the blade out in earnest.
