Always surprised by the ones that can handle snow plowing without chains. Then I remember that not everyone has steep hills to handle.

You know I have turf tires on my Kubota l-245dt and got chains with it and never had to put them on. I can go through over a foot of snow plowing and it doesn't slip at all.
My first CUT was a JD 955. I reworked a set of semi truck chains to fit and ended up never using/needing them.

With my present 4410 I've only ever wished for chains once since 2004. It was a really wet snow and it turned to ice as soon as the tires put pressure on the snow. No traction at all!

Where i live, snow always turn to ice. Always have freeze, than thaw, then freeze then snow. Without chains my tractor plows sideways on flat ground.

Same here - snow turns to ice. Don't even need a thaw freeze cycle. Just continually driving over snow that doesn't melt off hard packs it into ice.

Same as well...plowing with tractor rear tire chains only have to be ready to counter steer going around curve.

Very hilly here. My kitchen windows actually look out onto a ski slope. I guess my driveway is relatively flat, by comparison to some, but even my neighbors with more hilly drives seem to be doing them without chains. All are asphalt, though, which is probably key. If I were on gravel, I'd probably be running chains.
