You guy's need to get some motorcycle gear, 12v that is. I got a jacket from Whitehorse Gear in NH. Heated Apparel - Electrically Heated Gear - Apparel - Whitehorse Gear They are close to me & the guy there actually talked me out of the pant's & gloves. He said to start with the jacket and by keeping your "core" warm really makes a big difference, and pant's, gloves, socks, can all be added later if needed. He was right and saved me at least $100. Good honest folks there that I think are primarily a mail order outfit but do have a nice showroom. This runs off the tractor 12v system and has a controller to adjust the heating level. I plow a small route of about 25 driveways for a friend and it takes about 5 hours. I have not found that I need the pants, gloves, etc. I have about $250 into the jacket, some connecting wires & the controller and I feel that was well spent money. 95% of the (year) time I'm in the woods with my tractor and hopping on & off and for my use, I'd destroy a cab in a hurry.

I still don't know either! Granted in the spring we get quite a bit of water in areas, but otherwise it's not bad.

Good idea, next year for Christmas I may throw that out as a "suggestion". 25 driveways in 5 hours, wow. Are those fairly small and close together? It takes me more than a half hour to plow our place including parking areas after a significant storm. My quickest place, a neighbor with 1/4 mile driveway and a small parking area, is 15 minutes if his gate is open, but not including travel time to get to the entrance of his place. Basically 2 per hour is the most I can ever get done.

I've got the Gerbings vest. (life time guarantee)
I put an outlet on the motorbike side panel and in the dash of the Hurlimann for cold weather needs. The "short" accessory sockets were purchased at the CAT dealer. It seems they are common fare .

Heat the core, even your hands will be warm.

25 driveways in 5 hours, wow. /QUOTE]

Some are next door but some are about a 1/4 mile. Some are just 5 min, and a couple are a 1/2 hr or more. But who's counting when your having fun
When I do my place, it can take several hours if I clean up around the wood splitting area and do all of my roads. Then another hour when the snow eventually comes off the roof:laughing:

You guys ever notice that one side of your blower is getting smogged with the diesel exhaust? I clean that area off after every use, but it looks like its staining the back of my blower a little. Might have to rig up an exhaust diverter.

This is why I put a vertical exhaust on my 4410. That and the fact that with the swirling air in behind the blower caused a person to breath the exhaust almost continuously.

PMSMechanic, I will rig a flap to push it out to the side more. Good point on routing it straight up too.

Anyone have any snow yet? I'm actually looking forward to a blizzard just so I can clear my driveway lmao
Had 12" of fluffy stuff the Sunday before thanksgiving. Wake up to about an inch of lake affect every morning, then another 5" on top. I've been using my Cub Cadet 782 so far but I think the driveway is frozen enough to try out the big guy. I'm new to plowing Gravel driveways. I knew the 1000lb plow (Virnig 84" 'V' plow) would be trouble if I didn't wait.
