Wax old man,
What isn't shown in the pic is that I had to pick up the Bride's Highlander with the backhoe to balance the load . . . . . only a one beer pimp though - a couple shims to the relief valve.
That trail is called Spruce Cliffs, (one of a handful of hidden trails known only to the old guard - Dorothy's crotch, tunnel of love, an old streambed to the left of white heat etc.) it is only shown on very old maps of Sunday River and has been closed for years. I pirate it every year with the boys - one of those wrights of passage they'll pass on to their boys too, someday. There is a granite headwall at the bottom and the way around it to the right is nearly vertical with monster compression as you hit the flats. This year it will be a 4 Ibuprofen run for the Old Man . . .
Three for the road . . . .Pimp my canopy . .
