Pin on vs. Q/A Survey for FEL

/ Pin on vs. Q/A Survey for FEL #21
Every time I change between my bucket, pallet forks and front quick hitch in a single afternoon, and then back to nothing for mowing, I look up and thank heaven (or at least John Deere) for my quick attach loader.

Deere QA here. I only have bucket and pallet forks now, but it's a simple/fast change from one to the other.

Kioti CK20S - converted from pin-on to SSQA.
- It was expensive (~$650) to buy the loader adapter and convert my bucket, but I had it done when I bought forks. I did recover some money as I found a snowplow on craigslist which had already been converted to SSQA for just $300 which wouldn't have been an option without the SSQA conversion.
- It works great, changing attachments shouldn't taker more than a minute and doesn't require a grease gun. If I had bought pin-on forks I know that I wouldn't have switched back and forth between bucket & forks as nearly as often as I do. That's what pushed me to convert, as I knew the forks I was about to buy wouldn't have gotten nearly as much use if I was going to dread swapping attachments every time.
- The loss of curl force is noticable. It is what it is.
- I'd do it again!

I also switched from a pin on to a ssqa. A tad expensive, but worth every penny. I would never get another FEL or tractor without SSQA. Like others have said it's a huge time saver, but more then that it cuts way down on the cursing, so I don't need to pack a lunch when I go to confession. :D

I can not believe you guys take off your loaders. I have had my current tractor for 7 years and the loader has been off once for one afternoon then right back on. I just use it way too much. I think its like my right hand.

1st tractor - pin-on
2nd tractor - QA

Didn't realize what I was missing until I bought tractor #2.

QA from now on!!

I have pin on. Undecided if I'd be willing to give up some performance for QA. Right now, couldn't justify the expense anyway; no more than I'd use it. I do have 3PH forks though.

I have the Q/A on the FEL of my NH TN55. I wanted Q/A and I'm not sure whether I could have gone with pins. I seem to recall the dealer saying he wouldn't sell that size FEL without Q/A. I'm more that happy with the Q/A.

Chris,

I don't take off my loader -- but I don't carry around the FEL bucket unless I need it.

I have the Q/A on both my tractors. On previous tractors that I have owned I did not. Now, on a utility sized tractor, I would not want to be without the Q/A.

I can not believe you guys take off your loaders.

Having a removable loader is handy for 3 point work in tight areas such as narrow winding trails through the woods. Amazing how much more maneuverable the tractor is with out the loader.
