Pintle Hitch For Draw Bar

you could weld up a sleave out of 3/8" metal that would slide over your drawbar and pin in place and bolt a hitch on like jpm1 pictured.

This is what we use at work. I don't have any pictures but will try to get some. simple to weld. just a full sleeve that has 2 holes in it that match up to the last 2 holes in the drawbar on one of our m125x tractors. attach a flat vertical plate to the sleeve with a couple of gussets and bold on the pintle hitch and your good to go. comes off easy as well with minimal work. we use one bolt and one pin to make removal faster. we use this hitch to tow our chipper on fence lines and also to pull a 20k lb trailer to haul our bobcat with brush cutter to remote areas where a truck cant go easily. works pretty slick.

edit: watch the tongue on the tires as your tractor can most certainly turn tighter than a truck towing the trailer. one of the fellas i work with found out the hard way when he took off part of some lugs.

So go to a 2" receiver on your 3pth, but RAISE the hitch before you start to dump. Once its up, won't go any farther without lifting the tractor....

Eh, _some_ tractors have more free play to flop higher than what they lift, really mosy I'm familiar with do that but my experience is with bigger ag tractors. I'd be careful with this plan....

You can chain the 3pt hitch to the regular drawbar to limit it's upward movement.

Any which way, plan it out, think it through, don't assume.

You would have to make a clevis fork permanently installed on the pintle eye to use with the draw bar.

But why????

Use your 3 pt as has been suggested, attach a chain from the trailer mover to your draw bar to stop uncontrolled 3 pt rise due to negative tongue weight.
I have a 5 ton dump trailer, and it works great. couple the trailer with out getting off the seat.

So much easier, and much more versatile and stronger. Do yourself a favor and forget about the draw bar. use the pintle eye the way it's supposed to be used

Another good reason to use the 3pt for trailer moving. plus the draw bar is too low for most trailers and a lot of other reasons.

Sorry if I sound so opinionated, I don't usually do that but that's how much I like using the three point hitch for trailer jockeying. 3pt hitch and trailer hitch is like a match made in heaven!

I use mine so much I eliminated the middle man (3pt hitch adaptor) and just installed the receiver tube right on my Imatch quick hitch, also on my HF QH.

i just bought one of these clevis hitches from harbor freight for 16 bucks and bought a 1 inch pin for it. That will probably work. Where else you gonna get something like that for 16 bucks? i bought a pintle for towing 5 tons on the road but that was like 130 bucks. if your just movin stuff around the property get the clevis from harbor freight
