Pisten Bully 400 service and operations

Ya, at least if you can change the mechanical gear ratio I'd say so. An automatic tranny uses planataries & everybody considers those "gears".

The trail Bully's are the only Bully's made with the 2 speed planataries (that I know of) and we don't ever use it. Its really, really slow and you can do the same by putting the pumps speed dial on 1.

Here is a reasonable photo of the operators hands on the steering yoke. You can steer the machine and make adjustments on the fly. The speed dial is on the left and very near his thumb.

On a trail next to the road like that, do you have problems with the salt from the road softening the snow on the trail?

Thank you for the kind comments. I came down with a rather serious cold on Wednesday and still dealing with that. We got a bit of snow here which we dearly needed. Its sure been a warm winter here in the Midwest and darn little ice on this great lake.

I'm recovering from my cold and went to work today. We are moving towards spring and don't have much for exciting photos for you folks. Cooler weather and snow is predicted but we've sure had a warm winter but with near normal snow fall at around 230". The first 2 are what we strive to create.. (not that often) The D5 cat is dozing open a logging road and I brought signage out for that.

we are in the midst of winter here, finally enough ice on the lakes to make some longer runs.
this here is 15 miles across the ice. just like on ice road truckers TV show, you can hear the ice cracking as you drive along! Good thing for the satellite radio! we go about 30 miles in one direction then turn around. no cell service, no road crossings, hardly any sledders during the week, especially when it's -25.

Arly, i remember we had a lot of issues with the air filter on our Bulley, it would get full of snow dust on the long ice crossings going downwind, or in the bush knocking all the snow from the tree branches. This machine (Prinoth Husky) has not had one issue all either with the air filter. in fact i've never even opened the cover to look at it.
Do you have issues with your air filter? do you use a hot air supply?
