doesn't look like the pisten bully I drove. Some of them actually have steering wheels but all the ones I drove had two levers on the left side to control the drives.

is the driver centered in the machine. the ones I drove were all left hand drive where the operator was on the left side

What year are the machines you speak of??? The 400s have the driver on the left and a large bump for electrical controls and a engine in the center. Of course a passenger seat on the right.

Do you carry some candles to stay warm if you break down in the middle of nowhere?

i drove grooming machines from 2004 to 2007 so around those years but the demo we had at the ski hill may have been a prototype with the controls that never made it to production. I see you have a steering wheel. how do you turn the machine around on itself with the steering. we used to be able to spin around in one spot with the sticks but I'm assuming you have a forward and reverse pedal by your feet. all we had by our feet was a foot throttle that was rarely used.

one thing i loved with the pisten bully was that no matter the conditions the windows were dry. the defrosters where really powerful. the Camoplast/Prnoth machines always had wet windows. the factory tech's excuse was that there wasn't enough room in the engine compartment to but a bigger alternator in.

James, Seems Bully's have been changed quite a bit since 2007. No hand throttle and the only pedal on the floor is a foot feed. (engine throttle) On the steering console is pump controls to control your pumps output. I like to turn output down for dozing or anything that's more technical, like a road crossing. Reversing both tracts at one time can only be done by switch on the steering console but you still can reverse any of the tracks by steering hard to left of right. So you can still do a zero radius turning then the yoke is turned to its further settings but modest directional changes are done by slightly turning the yoke to either side, which slows one of the tracks just slightly if you like to just turn a bit. Does that make sense??
