Just wanted to get opinions on whether to buy this or not; PJ tilt bed equipment trailer

My only concern is that is only a 16', although it measures 17' from front of the deck to the tip of the ramps at the rear. I measured my 3320 with the bucket flat and the rear blade at an angle it measure 15' 10". If I roll the bucket back and straighted the blade I gain a foot and half or so. I really like the trailer, tilt and heavy duty, it looks new and I think I can get it for $3K

Opinions?

I say yes, its worth it. Any 14K trailer for that money is a good buy. Offer $3000 in $100 bills and you will drive away with it. If not leave. He will call you within a hour to come get it.

My thought exactly. I was very impressed with the appearance of it and they sell for $5200 new, w/o LED upgrade.

Recently I checked out that model at the local PJ dealer. Nice rig, looks solid. Price you're looking at seems reasonable for a trailer that has everything you need already installed.

I agree it is well built trailer and just what I wanted. However, I was suppose to sell a car this past Saturday and use some funds from that to buy the trailer. Well the guy decided the car was not what he wanted, so I had to pass on the trailer for now.:mur:

I'm thinking that it's a bit overpriced. I just bought a galvanized solid w/ball. $35 for the mount & $20 for the ball. That's new and at a trailer supplier. ...just a thought.

Yes, you should get a mount and a ball that are rated to what your trailer is. Also take a look at your hitch itself. Not many are rated at 14,000# unless you get into a class 5 hitch that is 2.5" or some 2" units from a few companies.

I have a 2004 F-250 4x4 Diesel and when it was about 6 months old I broke the factory hitch with a 14,600# load. The hitch was rated at only 6,000# and 10,000# with WD if I remember right. It could have been 7,500# and 12,000# but either way I had it overloaded and it broke. Remember, it was a brand new truck.

What is your tow vehicle?

I have an '01 F250, Diesel, the hitch is rated at 5K and 12.5K w/wd hitch. I checked my hollow mount and it is only rated at 5K.

My wd hitch for my enclosed car trailer is rated at 12K. The problem I have is where they mounted the electrical boxes on the tilt trailer, of course they are in the way of where the brackets have to mount.

Thanks, Mike
