Planning on dropping Health Insurance. Change my mind.

It takes a special kind to complain about having good health.

I will always be thankful for the good health I’ve been blessed with. Though, I can understand his frustration with paying, paying paying for years and years with never getting a break because I’ve had good health and haven’t been a drain on the system.

It’s also easy to feel some resentment toward people who run to the doc with every little complaint and supposed ailment because....”insurance”.

If I dropped coverage I would have saved that much. Just signed up for 2021, guess I値l donate another $3200 this year, what a waste of wealth. I hope one day I値l get my moneys worth out of the healthcare industry but that痴 not likely to happen, I have never gotten a break when I use it yet, I always just get a bill like I don稚 even have insurance.

In my opinion doctors and nurses are grossly over paid, sure they work hard, who doesn稚 work hard? They are greatly composited for it though, then act like they are doing the world a favor by doing their jobs. If Biden forgives healthcare workers student loans I知 gonna lose it and send him a not so nice Email.

Thank you for paying for the guy who has better things to do than work and has no insurance but goes to the emergency room for a runny nose.

I can tell you this. 10 years ago I was seeing a doc in italy. There was talk about her coming here or me moving there.

Bottom line, she was a MD, with a speciality, cardiology and very close to be certified in ultrasound.

I told her, based on what my customers were telling me, in Scottsdale she could make 1-2 million a year? Maybe not?

She was making $60K and wouldn't leave Italy because the government paid for her education and felt an obligation to stay and help her fellow Italians.

I have good-ish health. I’m getting to the age (30) of needing preventative healthcare to nip some stuff in the butt. But every time I try to fix a legitimate problem I’m slapped with a $1400-$1900 bill and no better off after, but can I ask for my money back? Can I demand they make it right on their dime because they didn’t fix my problem? No I can’t, they just demand more co-Pays and start a new ticket then threaten to send the bill to collections if I don’t pay.

So I’m held hostage by the fact I have assets, so I have to carry insurance. Then I’m held hostage financially if I’m not happy with the care I receive.

The health insurance company makes it VERY clear that unless it’s life and death, they won’t cover crap and I have the “Gold” plan which is the middle plan I have available to me. They send it all to my deductible which is $1750 per year.

Besides hiring a lawyer to hold them accountable which I can’t afford, I started this thread to complain lol. Well really folks on here convinced me to get insurance in 2020.

You get it. Pay out all this money for a what if, and never see any benefit from it. It’s like a black hole that sucks up wealth.

That’s a very respectable lady right there, healthcare workers here are well paid yet complain they are over worked and act like they are doing everyone a huge favor doing their jobs lol.

If I found a doctor like this lady, a doctor with morels I’d be VERY happy. Instead I find doctors that are essentially salesman for pharmaceutical companies, they have little diagnostic abilities but have a sharp pencil to write prescriptions.

We are in generally good health, but you never know what might happen. Insurance is betting that you're going to get sick while the insurance company is betting that you won't. In our case, year after year we paid into it more money than I wanted to, but ... Then one year a diagnosis on my wife resulted in several hospital stays and surgeries. The insurance company paid out numbers in the 6 figures, so all these years we'd been paying into it, our bill was just a small part of the total. Personally, I would much rather have kept paying into it than to have gone thru what we did.

Sounds like your not impressed with your doctor. Find a different one that fits your idea of medical care.
