Plantar Fasciitis, what a curse!!

After living with and suffering from this for 12 years, discovering the ASTYM physical therapy was a godsend. Don’t suffer like I did; go get the treatment and insoles if you need them.
That physical therapy seems like several you tube videos I've seen for relieving PF and other problems like Peroneal Tendonitis. Do you have any good links for the therapy other than the ones put out by clinics?

This is where I found my local therapist who is certified in ASTYM. They have a link to find a provider.

Read a study of indigenous people that go barefoot and foot maladies are almost non existent aside from injuries.

Makes me wonder if there is a balance between wearing shoes and not? Maybe shoes prevent the conditioning that is otherwise natural?

Have always comfortable boots I seldom wear unless doing hillside weed abatement… never an issue but this year not the case… one day wearing this Spring and that was enough to hobble in pain for several weeks…

Had PF twice and it was a long journey back…

I did wear a night boot that I think helped.

Even though it's been less than 48 hours since I started taking the anti-inflammatory Meloxicam, it seems to be making a huge difference with my arthritic ankle. Maybe it's all in my head, but I don't think so.

I suspect It probably takes a few days to feel the full benefits of it. Surprisingly, the dosage is only one pill a day.

I'm still battling the plantar fasciitis, so at the recommendation of a friend who had a similar issue, I had a Piezowave treatment and a Thera-laser treatment this morning with the person that fixed hers.

Holy-foooook!! It was the most painful procedure I've ever volunteered for! I'm not going to lie, from a scale of 1-10, I hit a 10 in a couple of instances and had to remind myself to breath, so I wouldn't pass out. I think I was covered in sweat when we finished.

The Piezowave was incredibly painful, with a deep pain that's hard to describe. I had points where I had to tell the technician to back off. The Thera-laser was the equivalent to someone burning you with a hot poker. The laser would blast for 50 second cycles and at the end of each cycle it was like a red hot poker.

Apparently, I'll need to do up to 6 rounds of this! I'll have to schedule another for later this week and I'm dreading it. I think it's going to work, but man-o-man it's not fun. I consider myself to have a decent pain tolerance, but this pushes you to the limit.

I had excellent results with the ASTYM treatment and it wasn’t quite that painful. Maybe you could find a physical therapist who can do that treatment.

Plantar affects so much the quality of life…

I’ve seen contractors stopped cold with a bum foot…

I briefly looked into this, but I was too busy with work to do so many sessions. I jumped on this Piezowave/Thera-laser treatment sort of on a whim, because I have the next 2 weeks available. That should get me through 4 of the treatments. Then I work a week and then have another week to get 2 more treatments in. The owner said most times, 4 treatments are enough, but sometimes up to 6 are required. My friend just never prepared me that it would be so painful. The owner did say they get easier each time. I sure hope so.
