I have a lot of trouble now cutting straight with a plasma or oxy cutter. So I made this simple cheap rig to help me out. Some of you might want to make one also, so I am posting here. YouTube

Very cool... and boy I thought my Workmate had some miles on it! I did recognize it right off because of the dog holes.

Dragon, got one of those too, it's home to the pocket hole setup ATM -

I can see oercheron's next U-tube now - "How to make replacement jaws for your Workmate out of non-flammable tile backer board" :D ... Steve

Got it free about 30 years ago. Nothing a little duct tape can't fix!

Looking at your plasma torch and knowing the brand. Your machine should have trigger lock on it so you wouldn't have to hold the trigger during the cut.

Thanks for this! Yes it does and I hadn't realized. It turns out to be a setting on the machine itself (not on the torch handle) called "latch", just hold the trigger until the pilot comes on, let go and continue cutting, and it stops all by itself at the end of the cut. Just tried it, works great and thank you!

Interesting... I would never of imagined a trigger lock would be located 'remotely' on the machine!
