Did you purchase the tanks from the people that does the exchange?

I have tanks from Praxair, and I bet no one else will refill them, but Praxis will exchange them for me. I also have an account there.

I had Linde tanks first and they moved so the Air Gas place was closer and I talked to them and was told I could trade my tanks for theirs. I did trade and now I take them in and they exchange them. A couple of years ago I moved about a 160 miles away and I just took them tto the Air Gas place up here and did not have a problem. I also own my tank for my wire welder which is also air gas

One advantage to a plasma cutter is the lack of bottle rental or demurrage. Problem is though that you will still need to heat and bend stuff so hard to get around this. I use a Victor Journeyman torch set, it works well for most of the things I do.

If I do buy a plasma cutter it will be from a local welding supplier who carries all the consumables at a fair price.
