Plastic vs. Metal Hoods, Fenders, etc.

I am currently stuck with keeping mine outside. I tarp it. A good 16x24 cost under 30 bucks after taxes 4 bungee cords hold it in place. 2 on the sides of the bucket and 2 on the implement with the tarp over the ROPS.

In the winter I park the wifes car outside and put the tractor in the garage /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Hey, when we get snow, she is going to stay home anyway and the tractor HAS to move.

Not sure.. but my NH uses steel.. not plastic...

Massey is probably the same as AGCO which uses steel.

I dug up a old spring (water) with my loader yesterday evening,it had not been used in 35 years and I found metal pipe and plastic pipe in it,the metal pipe was exremely corroded and the plastic pipe would look like new if you cleaned it off,amazing how the stuff held up so good after all of those years laying in the muck.

It's the UV light that is hard on plasstic... not much. Now onthe other hand.. the muck is hard on the metal.. and uv light isn't.

As there are paints used on metal that degrade under UV, exposing the meatl to oxygen, and there are UV resistant plastics.
