Buying Advice Plastic

Good to know. Guess I never thought of it that way but my TIKA 30-06 does have alot of "composites" on it. makes sense thanks guys

That Tika is a nice gun. I was watching the History Channel, one of my favorite channels and they did a "Top Ten" on submachine guns and there was a lot of composites, so like you say they must be pretty durable.

Our Case had a lot of fiberglass components that did not hold up well and would be interested to hear from those with experience long term on plastic components on their tractors.

Is it just or does there seem to be an awful lot of plastic on these new subs. The hood, fenders, and floorboard guards are all plastic! Is this normal and if so does it matter?? I would think plastic would break and crack alot easier than metal also can repaint easier. This making sense to anyone??

Well, plastic doesn't dent. If the 2210 had a plastic hood instead of steel I would have a dent free hood.
What concerned me about my 2210 was after I got it home and discovered the hydrostat case was aluminum!!!!!

Just remember fellows, plastic (composite) don't rust. Also plastic will spring back to original shape when hit with a small impact force where metal will usually have a small indent in it.

The trouble with plastic parts is when they are first introduced or the material changed to save cost. They have no way of knowing what 20 years of abuse and the effects of weather will be. The fact that there are some plastic parts out there that don't fail is the result of years of R&D or just dumb luck.
