2003 Kubota BX1500/2004 Kubota Bx23/2005 Kubota BX1500
Just got in from trying out the 2554 in the snow.
We got about 4" of wet slick snow today. It's the first snow we've had since I got the Kubota BX23 in Sept of 2004.
I was pretty impressed with the traction the CC 2554 had in the snow especially since there aren't any attachments, extra weight or chains on it, just the rear ag tires.
My old Bolens 850 tractors with chains on turf tires and a 12" filled cement block on the back have very good traction, but I just know they would not go in the snow like the CC 2554 did if I took the chains and the cement block off of them.
I was able to go about 30 feet up a pretty steep hill before the back wheels started spinning, but it was still climbing slowly, so I backed down to the driveway.
I'd forgot about trying the differential lock so up the hill I went again till it started spinning.
I stopped and engaged the differential lock and started on up the hill.
From time to time both wheels would spin but I do believe I could have made it to the top of this 150 foot long fairly steep hill.
How's That For Traction??

Sounds good to me. Sure beats the heck out of a shovel, don't it?

The 2500's don't have a differential lock. How did you engage one?

First, you make sure you purchased the GL version (which stands for Got Lock). Then you get off the tractor at night and fiddle with levers and knobs. Presto!

Plus you need to have the peak "Mount LB" at your disposal

I'm still trying to figure out how he took care of four inches of snow late in the evening with the Cub Cadet, then in another thread, took care of four inches of snow with the Kubota the next morning. That's eight inches, when the surrounding areas around Mount LB only received two or three!

Since you said you engaged your locking differential on a tractor that doesn't have one, I automatically assumed you were plowing snow without a plow too! :D :p ;) :D

I read the OP a couple times and I still don't see where LBrown said he was plowing snow. Actually it says NO Attachments! He was driving it up a hill. I don't know about the differential lock cause I don't like Cubs. I agree with LBrown you need to learn to read and understand what you read.

Ok thanks for the tip....Now about the hill that didnt exist (or at least to the extent described) and the feature on a machine that didnt exist either.

So what part of the OP did you not read?
