What is the new GM six speed model in the half tons? Is it the same as the previous 4 speed transmissions where the 1/2 tons have the smaller 4L60E (so would that be a 6L60E?) and the heavier trucks the 4L80E (which I know is the 6L80E)?

I'm not sure about the half-tons, but the new HDs are 6L90s

6L80.. first gear ratio is 4.027.. my rear end ratio is 3.08 I love my 6 speed and the truck too! ( but I am not towing anything either)

Yup, much deeper 1st gear than older transmissions, matches the rear end well.
