Did you try the rocker pedal on a Kubota Grand L? It痴 way better IMO than the rocker pedal on the standard L痴. View attachment 621349

Hmmm.... I guess it's time for another visit to the Kubota dealer for me. I've not looked at all their models, but just assumed that they were like mine & all had "upsidedown L" shaped type of rocker pedal shown in tractorable's post #43. Mine has that same pedal. and just like him I also use it in both directions by moving my foot so that I push it down in either direction using the front of my foot - just as jchonline described (post #42)....although I'd say he described the motion better than I have.

Anyway, when used that way, the pedal is a reasonable compromise between a true rocking pedal and two different pedals like most of the world prefers. And it has safety advantages for the transmission; it's impossible to push both down at once. Think about that....

What I'm saying is that I thought that ALL the Kubota models had that same upside down L shaped rocker pedal. Is that wrong?

This may be a case of the classic definition of ignorance on my part, i.e. thinking that all the models had the same L shaped rocker just because all the models I looked at did.

I may be way wrong there.

Unfortunately you are wrong. I personally know the L4701, MX48,52 and 5800 all have the rocker pedal and I was told because of the way they hook up they can't be interchanged with the pedal like you have. Also the tractors that do have the pedal like yours they either don't fit me or are way to big for what I need. As far as the JD vs SS Quick Attach debate my one half cent (because I am by far no expert or even a novice) based on the research I've done you can have a million implements available to you but most people only need a select few. As for me at this point I only need/want 2. That's a bucket which will come with the tractor and a grapple. Now I asked what the difference was to get the SSQA vs the JDQA and it was about $600. I just don't see paying extra just for the possibility of being able to buy something I may never need. Everything Attachments charges $50 extra to make their grapple JDQA compatible so for me whenever I get a grapple I'll just pay the $50.

I am 6'2", 34" legs, 12.5 feet, and 10 acres, my Max28 has ample room, in fact I have to draw the seat up a little when driving forward and push the set towards the rear of the tractor when using the backhoe.

Don't think Mahindra is making the Max28 any longer but there is one one step up the model ladder and if I were to do it again I would go up to it !

I use 60" implements, Brush Hog, great for larger area mowing and weed overgrowth, a 60" Box Blade and Grader/Scraper, the little tractor handles the 60" tools well.

Good Luck on your hunt and post up what you decide.

I guess for some of us having multiple tractors and owned tractors both befor and after the JD experience, meaning attachments that don’t fit and have to be sold and replaced or modified makes a difference. I’m also the type to come across something for sale and when I was stuck with that JD set up it always seemed nothing ever happened to fit.

I didn’t know they wanted that much for the switch, typical JD with crazy high prices! My last JD was purchased with no quick hitch and we modified one from a burnt tractor in a tractor scrap yard that isn’t too far away. Think the total cost was like 200 bucks including fuel to go pick it up.

I would agree there are not a lot of used JD front attachments out there. Everything Attachments charges around $50 to make it for a JD vs. SSQA. Most people have maybe two or three FEL attachments?

When I first looked at JD after owning a Kubota without a quick attach bucket the first thing I looked at was their quick attach system. I heard so much negative about it. My first thought was that is so simple it is brilliant. If you have never looked at the system you have to see it to understand it. There are two hitch pins you pop off and just roll out of the bucket.

I have no issue with how it works. Just that it doesn稚 work with the majority.
Imagine having to buy only JD forever just so you don稚 have to sell off the things you already have and replace them every time you buy a tractor. Also I don稚 own all JD so now that fits one brand attachment can稚 be used on the other machine.

Nothing says locked into one brand to me like a proprietary set up like that and my family and friends as well as myself haven稚 been impressed enough with JD to commit to the brand forever.

Now that's why I said "one half cent" because you bring up a point I would have never thought about. With your argument if I bought the EA grapple with the JDQA then if I ever sold the tractor I would have to either buy another JD or sale the tractor grapple and all and start over if I wanted to buy another brand. Definitely something to take into consideration.

Or you could buy a skid steer quick attach plate and weld it to your grapple. The Deere quick attach has two pins and two cuffs, that can be removed. I was going to do this to my grapple when I sold my Deere 3320 a few weeks ago. But the guy I sold my tractor to wanted the grapple and gave me what I paid for it 12 years ago, which was enough to buy a Titan Implement grapple for my new tractor.

I know you are looking at Deere and Kubota, and are both good tractors. I just made the switch to Kioti. I tested a NX model that had a pretty good size cab. But I settled on a DK4710se series for my needs. I know you are tall, but did you adjust the seat suspension so the seats would not bottom out? Some people have over looked this and it could help you.

To make a JD end loader SSQA is usually done with a plate that just hooks up to the JD quick attach. Like the OP said, most people only have a couple of FEL attachments so its not usually an issue.

I actually sat in a RX7320 cab and adjusted the seat up, down, left, right, front, back and every other way I could and it still didn't matter. The salesman was amazed himself. It's like a tornado which takes the right amount of hot and cold atmosphere I'm the right amount of height, weight and shoe size(16). So it's not that I'm particular to any brand actually those are just the only two I've found that fit me with the Deere fitting perfectly and even then it's only the 4M series and not the 4R or Cab because of the loader joystick placement. I'm sure if I went way up in size I could find something that worked but for 5 acres that wouldn't make any sense at all.
