Comparison Please help please advise

Friends I am having to decide between a brand new TLB Kioti CX2510 Vs Kubota B2601 TLB. Everythings the same implements, tires filled, and etc. Except the Kioti will have the HST assist which to my knowledge is not available on the Kubota. However, the Kubota has 3 range hydro instead of just 2 range like the Kioti. The price is about the same only about an $80 difference. Same deal $0 down $0 for 84 months. I need to decide this week as I am driving my wife and myself nuts. On paper to my eyes the Kioti beats the Kubota, but I would really value your opinions on the tractors. As many of you have probably owned or had more seat time in them than I have. I have test drove the Kioti and loved it. I am test driving the Kubota Monday. To be exact the Kubota that I am test driving is a 2401 gear as they don't have the 2601 in yet for me to test drive. But I figured it's the same frame and should be the same hydrolic pump the best I researched, so I can get an idea of the loader speed, ergonomics, and etc. Please advise me on what you would do pros and cons. Thank you

The Kioti CX2510 is a brand new model just released in August 2020. So probably not a lot of owners can respond for that tractor model. If it was just these two tractors to choose from I would probably get the Kubota B2601, due to mainly three range HST and more lift at the 3pt hitch and slightly improved loader specifications. The Kioti has the higher hydraulic flow by 20% and the HST assist is quite nice. This is the first time I hear Kioti has something like the Kubota HST Plus. This is a new concept in HST technology. Both Kioti and Kubota have very good reliability. I really can't think of any serious negative points about these manufacturers.

For me the Kioti CK2510 is a three range HST that competes much better with the Kubota B2601, and has a 7 year track record of successful design. What ever you decide, get your tractor order in quickly before annual spring orders start in Mid March.

Which one seems to fit you the best. Which one has the better location of all the controls. Which one has better customer support. Yes - go in there - have a look at their maintenance department and have a informative talk with their maintenance manager.

In addition to all the above I'll add that I'm very leery of putting money into the introduction year of anything. I also like the three shift ranges of the Kubota. Distance to the dealer and support quality should weigh heavily into your decision,, though.

I also prefer a 3 range HST but must stress that with many of the smaller HP models find that the high range has been useless! At the same time I have found that a properly set up 2 range HST has performed just as good and in some cases better than the 3 range.

This meaning I would test run anything I was looking at for an extended timeframe and evaluate what if anything that 3 rd range was good for. Only being able to use it for going down the hill faster than a 2 range would not make it worth much in comparrison.

What the cut off for it’s usefullness is or what size machine I will let for you to evaluate on your own as I don’t want to insult or get into arguments here over it. But do understand that my 20 hp 2 spd ran circles around my friends 25 hp 3 spd and I didn’t shift ranges the entire day. Each gearset will react differently based on how it was designed and what the actual useful range is.

Test drive everything preferably while working the machine and do not use the geared version of any tractor to get a feel for anything other than physical size. Gear tractors perform way different than thier HST counterpart and doing so will most likely result in disappointment when you find out how much less your HST version performs compared.

The high range on the Kubota B2620/2601 is actually useful for more than just roading. When I get a light snow and don't want to blow it, I can use high range plowing with the loader.

The one I rarely use is low range. I can box blade or carry gravel up my steep hills in medium range no problem.

A very good point. I must admit, my 3 range Kioti tractor is used 95% of the time as a 2 range tractor. I rarely use the 3rd or high range, unless I am driving it on the road. So I should not be condemning any 2-range tractor, when I am using only two ranges.

I am not saying that I don稚 prefer a 3 range but if I am shopping between a 3 range and a 2 range I would spend some time making sure the 3rd range is actually useable, as some just seem like a wasted gear not good for anything other than going downhill on some small tractors.

Well, you'd have to check, but going with blue paint could potentially save you 7 or 8 grand.

I have a 3 range on my 25 hp gear tractor. I have had it for almost 2 years now, and I have to say that it has been in high range twice that I can truly say, maybe 4 times and it was put in mid range two of those times. Both times that I used high was for "traveling". The first (and last) time it was in high and 4th gear it was scary!

Way too fast for my comfort!..... the fastest that I want to go on my tractor is mid range, third gear, half throttle. Wow! It took me a minute longer to get to where I was going!..... I just enjoyed the pleasure of being on my tractor and took in the sights.....

I had a 25 hp SCUT with a 2 range. 80% of the time it was in low. Light duty tasks like landscape mulching, moving light materials, and of course just traveling were done in high easily.

I don't think you should make your decision on the 2 vs 3 range. I think getting a good "fit" on the tractor will be far more important. I am sure you are aware of those subtle differences in "feel". I personally like the loader valves mounted at the loader, not on the fender. However the joystick was "short" for me to operate without having to reach out and lean forward in the seat.... easy solution.... I made an extended joystick that was in my "comfort" range.

The other good "feel" of the tractor far outweighed the bad position of the joystick. I hope that you are able to make your decision without too much more "what if's".... good luck.

That's pretty much the same experience for me. Both times I used the high range on my Kioti, was to travel as fast as I could on the smooth county road from my Ranch Gate#1 to Ranch Gate#2.

I looked carefully at the specs on both CX2510 and CK2510 tractors, and they really are quite similar. Definitely the same hydraulic systems for sure. Alot of similar specs, except for the 2 range issue. That CK2510 is a proven tractor, and if Kioti is using it as the foundation for the CX2510, then it is only a "new model" in naming only.

The discussion seems to focus mostly on the HST and 2-3 range - but since you indicate this is a TLB consider how the BH is mounted and subframe.

The Kioti (unless they changed) has a subframe mount that comes off with the BH about 8' long, and it hangs further off the back and has lower ground clearance. IMO the subframe setup is harder to install, and also store. The Kubota BH77 has a 4PT connection close to the tractor and the subframe stays on the tractor and is easier to remove and install.

So take a look and test the R&R on the BH for both models as part of your evaluation would be my suggestion.

Kioti has been extremely quiet on the new HST Assist. But it closely duplicates the HST Plus that Kubota uses as an option on their tractors.
