tucke022,

Have you verified any of the stuff I have said.

Is this your hyd flow path with the log splitter installed?

Flow path = pump, PB out, log splitter in, log splitter out to 3pt in, then tank.

The only problem I can see with this is the valve OUT port back pressure, and a lot of people have done it this way. . There is a remedy, and that is a log splitter valve with PB, which will give you full protection, for the hyd flow.

There are other options, but I don't want to give you all of them, and possibly confuse you.

If it is under warranty, do as he says for the warranty provision.

The pump will pump up to its rated pressure, but the FEL relief valve is in the hyd circuit just for that protection. The log splitter valve also has a relief valve.

Would you like me to speak to the dealer and the log splitter Co. on your behalf.

Send me a PM if you like.

On my loader valve I have a p and a T. My dealer said the T was what goes all the way back and that's what powers the splitter. The p goes straight off a block from the hydro pump. My return on the back of my tractor goes to the loader gave again. I am now even more confused. Did the dealer just hook the hydro remotes different then most? I will try and post pics tomorrow

The only reason they would use the T port from the FEL, , is that there is no PB on the valve. If there is a PB port on the valve one should use it. This would be your supply for the hyd flow.

Theres no pb on the fel valve. My manual does show a block off my hydro for aux hydraulic. I wonder if I can another feeder line.

If you don't have a PB port, then you risk the FEL valve, because the valves out port is supposed to go to tank.

In the situation when using a 3pt, they go ahead and route the FEL OUT to either a block in the back, or directly to the 3pt. Same thing with a BH or log splitter valve, the OUT ports are supposed to go to tank. This is being done and has been done in the past.

The ideal situation, is for all the valves to have a PB port.

If you put one of these valves after the FEL, you can switch the fluid to the end product, be it BH, log splitter, or 3pt.

This valve will switch the hyd path to the 3pt or log splitter or BH.

Surplus Center - 3/8" NPT 20 GPM PRINCE SELECTOR VALVE

The complete hyd system should be in series, and has to push fluid through all valves in neutral. The last valve will pressurize each valve upstream.

The first valve that operates a lever will have priority over everything downstream..

THanks JJ for all your advice and as much as I liked the log splitter on my truck after reevaluating my idea I decided to swap it out for a gas powered splitter for $200 more. This way I can use my tractor for other things and I dont put more hours on it just running. I guess its just one more engine to maintain! ;)
