This seems a silly question, but I am missing 2 bolts that hold down what appears to be a spring-tensioned-band, located underneath the seat pan cover plate, and behind and above the rear PTO assembly. The band when unbolted sits at a 45-degree angle and requires a bit of pressure to return it to the boss that it should be bolted to. The current bolts in the photos have been temporarily placed there for visualizing this issue. The left edge of the band cannot be seen or photo'd well, but appears to be a 90-degree bend onto a shaft of some sort. It seems to do more than just a plate that covers something.

I have made numerous calls (VM) and text messages to the dealership where I purchased my Mahindra, to their listed phone, the service center, the parts center, and sales, and to actual accounts of the people who are in charge of those departments. No return communication, and have given up after a few days.

If it is not an essential part, I'll just bolt it down and be done with it. If it is something else, I love to find out what it is, its purpose, and if I should be concerned about it. The last thing I want to do is pay a service fee if it's unnecessary.

Thinking maybe #20 from your pictures. Unfortunately, no size specified

I ordered those online from my local Mahindra dealer. Maybe they will respond this time around

Wondering if you took another bolt off of the tractor to sample the size/threads, then you can get replacements from a local hardware store

Actually I already have the size, thread and length info. As it’s still under warranty (7-year), I’d rather replace with the correct ones, especially considering their reluctance to work with me. Otherwise I would have done as you’ve suggested. :)

If they are reluctant to work with you, then warranty is going to be tough.
Go to Mahindra Corporate!

I already have, and they stated I needed to work with my dealer directly, as each is an independent operator. I love my Max-24, but am thinking of trading it in for a new Kioti. Sadly, dealerships can turn a favorite tractor into a liability. Unless things change, I may need to shop local dealers first before deciding my next move. We’ll see.

I meant go to corporate and raise hell about the dealer. I had a Deere customer that had what he thought was a warrantable problem, but we couldn't replicate it. He went to Deere corporate who came back to our corporate who came down on me. Result was that we replaced the 'possible cause' which wasn't faulty and had to eat the cost! Your case is different and not drastic, but if Mahindra corporate cares, you may get something done!
