M7060 HDC12
First the dislikes (which are few)
- If you have a loader installed, the left side mount blocks your access to the dipstick. Dang near impossible to get to it.
- Tool box - again if you have a loader, it is relocated on the left side loader vertical mount base and the lid won't even open fully in this position. I haven't found a logical relocation spot yet.
- Hoses are too exposed underneath and fuel tank only has a thin piece of sheet metal as a guard. These can be fixed fairly easy with some added protection

Now the good -
- Love the cab and air conditioning while working / radio - tunes playing / noise is minimized
- Plenty of power for loader work, ground engagement and mowing with 12 foot batwing Bush Hog
- 4WD is a button push and works well
- Constant RPM control button while mowing - great for hills and keeps 540 PTO speed dang near steady
- I'm sure there are other things - just escapes me right now.

I have an M7060HD12 ROPS model.

Had it for 2 years, 250 hours. Its been an excellent machine, zero problems, does everything I ask of it or needed to do. I have R4 tires, they are filled. Sometimes I'd lose traction, so I added 2 sets of wheel weights (400 pounds) which helped, but I might add the 3rd set of wheel weights for a total of 600 lbs.

I have the factory 3rd function for the loader, its worth the money. Nice clean install with factory pre-bent hard lines that run down the loader arms. The button is on the joystick you operate with your thumb. Very comfortable.

IMG-5175-1.jpg

I have 3 rear remotes, they are Self Cancelling Detent. I wish I got one of them as a Float Detent. I may replace it later on, but it's 700 bucks for that remote valve, I might be able to sell the other one to recoup some of my cost? I don't know. Undecided on the cost vs return of investment on that one.

Absolutely get Top N Tilt cylinders, I got mine from FitRite Hydraulics. I'd say he's the best.

If you go with R1 tires, absolutely go with cast centers and get them filled.

I don't really have any dislikes, other than I should have got that Float valve for the rear, would have been better I think, for my road grader.

I will address Herkypilot's Dislikes.

I have a ROPS model, so the oil dipstick issue isn't present with mine, I can see if you have to squeeze between the cab and loader mount arms it would be a pain. I also raise the loader to gain better access, I think you have to on any tractor anyway, lol.

The tool box on a ROPS model is behind the seat above the rear remote outputs. Easy to get to, it's just not big enough!!

IMG-5173-1.jpg

I agree with the underside sheet metal guards. I think anything guard wise should be made out of 1/4" thick steel!

IMG-5176-1.jpg

Overall, like I said, its a great tractor!

Thanks for the feedback.

Took delivery of mine today. Cab model, 12 speed. Moved from 3 to 20 acres and recognized immediately the BX was not going to be enough tractor.

Some early observations:
1. Need to figure out most efficient way to get in and out. Feels like there should be a grab handle on fender for exit. The tractor police would probably tell me I should be climbing out facing the cab and that's the real problem.

2. Coming from an open station BX, a climate controlled cab is a welcome upgrade. I wrestled with whether or not to spend the extra bucks for a cab. I'm glad I did.

3. The tool box placement on the cab model. Seriously? I knew about it before purchase so not like it was a surprise. It just really stands out as a poor design among all the great features on the rest of the tractor. Friday afternoon about 5:45P, holiday weekend, final mock up is due to the design team leadership by 6:00P. Bob notices they forgot something, "Oh crap, we forgot the tool box. Where do we put it? Here's a piece of scrap L-bracket on the floor. Maybe we could just ...." And the rest is history.

4. Love the loader.

5. The SGC-1072 grapple is pretty intense. My BX grapple has smoother operation; in large part due to lesser hydro flow rates. This one is just angry. Engage third function valves and it shakes the tractor. Hulk grapple. OPEN CLAW!!!!! CLOSE CLAW!!!!!

6. Two cup holders. Whaaaaaatttt??????? Yes sir. Two. That was not in the literature. Nobody mentioned it in any forums. So this was a cool surprise. I'm a little sarcastic but it is nice to have a place for extra tasty beverages.

7. I had rear tires spaced to widest position and filled. I have a lot of elevation in my pastures. Anxious to assess stability on those grades.

8. I did not have an immediate need for a top and tilt kit and extra remotes so I did not add those at purchase. Definitely on the to-do list for a future upgrade.

9. I agree with others that the soft underbelly could be a bit beefier.

10. It still has that new tractor smell.

11. The horn is sad. Maybe so you don't scare the livestock? Was hoping for something along the lines of a big rig horn.

12. Hydro steering was messing with my head. Treated myself to a Kubota branded steering knob. Mounted it at 6 o'clock. Through the afternoon it seemed to relocate itself. I'm dating myself but it started to feel like Igor's (pronounced EYE-GORE) hump ala Marty Feldman, Young Frankenstein. I recalled later in the evening reading that the hydro steering has no mechanical stop so the steering wheel travel continues even when tires are turned at full lock. No point in trying to mount the ball in a specific location.

More meaningful commentary after I get some seat time and really start to put it to work.

Wrong tool box bracket see dealer

sometimes hard to change range gear, move tractor releases tension

I added a Grammer air seat nice

It's funny... I'd be happy with a M7060, even if it had challenges and frustrations. Especially after reading some of yours.

If anyone gets too frustrated with their M7060, I'll take it off your hands for free -- I will even arrange for pickup. Just leave me the keys. :)

2014 M7060 HDC12 with 475 hrs. LIKES - Ample power and fuel economy, Cab is reasonably quite, AC performs well considering all the glass / heat radiation it has to overcome, FEL performance is good if you are running at 'rated' engine RPM, seat comfort / adjust ability good, cab ingress / egress is good,

FRUSTRATION - Remote 3ph option not available in USA market which makes it a PIA hooking up implements, FEL has no built in safety prop for the hyd. cylinders when fully raise for maintenance, oil dipstick location w/FEL, toolbox too small, cab storage compartments are nonexistent, horn is wimpy, cup holder diameter and depth could be better, buddy seat option not avail at time of purchase. The regen has been no problem, average is about every 11 hours. Make no mistake, the very instant that a delete kit is available, that crap will be out of here. The down the road maintenance cost is outrageous.

+1 on the lack of three point hitch remote. Dealt with that today. Like you said, cab ingress / egress is good. But half a dozen times or more in conjunction with three point hitch related tasks gets old fast. Worse still if you follow operating procedure and shut everything down before you dismount.

I have the 12 speed version and I highly recommenced this option. My only complaint is you really have 6 gears for working, the higher 6 is for road travel which seldom gets used. Also get the radial tires for the wider width for front tires. Love my tractor.

WoW!! My M6040 looks like MoparDude's smaller brother. Land Pride SGC 1560 grapple and Rhino 950 rear blade. R1's with 1550# of Rim Guard.View attachment 611056View attachment 611057

Very nice oosik! EA grapple and RBT4596 rear blade. With 3 remotes, I still don’t have all the functions available on the rear blade, so I’ll get a kit from FitRite with the electric selector valves to give me a total of 5 outlets.

I haven’t a need for a remote 3pt hitch lever. Without a cab, I just reach over and move the lever as I’m standing on the right side...No big deal.. what other tractors come with a remote 3pt lever?

Wrong tool box bracket see dealer

I would really appreciate a picture of the "correct" bracket with the toolbox installed so we can see the difference. This is the first I've heard there is some other bracket. There are many M7060 cab owners who have made the same comment on the toolbox issue. It is quite possible the dealer just uses the bracket the factory installed before a loader was added. I can see why the relocation bracket may not be shipped with the loader as the open station version doesn't require it.

You would be helping all of us owners out with this.

If you can't open the lid because it hits the FEL they installed the non FEL Brackettoolbox.jpg

RoyKing,
Mine looks the same as the picture you posted. The lid will open, but only about half way and strikes the base of the FEL support.

A few pictures for comparison. It has a factory bracket that must have come with the loader at the time. Maybe Kubota updated the angle of the bracket to allow for better access.

guess that's bad angle, the lid will open straight up but won't fold back. Mine was made the last week of 2018.

Observations after a few weeks.

Lean angle & stability
  • I have rear cast wheels spaced and set at widest and tires filled.
  • Significantly albeit not surprisingly more confidence inspiring than the BX over the same ground. Pitch angles this tractor can handle while rotary cutting perpendicular to slopes is impressive. I致e got elevation in places where you would expect to hear roller coaster 祖lack clack clack as the cars climb to the top. 7060痴 ability to crawl up or down.
  • I知 still getting used to the feel with respect to roll angles. How much is too much? 的t depends of course. Highly likely the tractor can lean farther than I am comfortable. I ride with a very robust sense of self-preservation and not wanting to roll a rather expensive tractor.

Regen
  • Sorry to rip the scab off this one but had my first regen. I believe it kicked off around 16-17 hours. Likely so quickly because spent a lot of put-put time getting used to transmission and drive operations. When regen kicked off, I was in the middle of rotary cutting so I just kept going. Not sure what the big deal is. Aside from an extra light on the dash being lit up, it did not impede my ability to do anything.
  • If I was to take issue with anything it might be to suggest that there is an inherent conflict between 540E and the recommendation to run high RPMs constantly to ensure more efficient combustion. More use of 540E will probably result in more frequent regens. Not a hit on Kubota. They were only responsible for 540E which is a nice feature. CARB gave us DEF, DPF and related. I値l stop there as this could easily turn into a hearty discussion over the merits and utility of the forced controls in the U.S. relative to the level of unchecked (and increasing) global emissions. Suffice to say, I had a regen and nothing bad happened.

Swivel chair?
  • Would it not be an awesome addition to have a tractor seat that swiveled maybe 45 degrees left or right? Twisting neck and back to observe implements and while backing up is not fun, particularly if you are practicing good tractor safety and wearing your ever-tightening seat belt.

Seat belt
  • Would like to see future versions work like car seat belts where it locks under some conditions (i.e., heavily braking, impact, rollover, etc) but under most normal use it slides freely in and out.

Fuel filling
  • I don稚 yet have a fuel transfer setup with nozzle and pump. I知 using standard 5 gal cans. On BX, I cut a 5-gallon water bottle to make a large diesel funnel. Works great. On 7060, not enough clearance. Need offset funnel with wide neck for fast filling. Quick search here found a few threads talking about similar issues. Easy fix, I just need to decide how to address it.

Tool box bracket
  • As described here, I must have the wrong bracket also. Lid only opens about half-way before hitting loading support.

Swivel seat would be a great selling feature. Particularly if you do a lot of brush cutting. Old persons like me would pay a premium for that option. Max safe roll angle is going to have a large variable depending on surface irregularities and speed.... one hidden large rock or dip could put you over the edge. I too ride on the conservative side of the scale. The pucker factor is enhanced due to sitting high on the cab platform vs. nestled down between the fenders straddling the transmission. You do have the incorrect toolbox bracket. Mine opens with room to spare.

M7060, could you post a picture of your toolbox and bracket please Sir? Thank You in advance. I posted a picture of a simple tool bag I place in the right front corner of the cab, works just fine, but I'm still interested in knowing what the proper toolbox bracket, etc. looks like when you have a FEL installed on the tractor.
