Can someone tell if a Dearborn 2 bottom plow is a good plow? My friend tells me its in mint condition. I'm not sure what mint means when refering to a used plow. Any imput about average selling price?

Dearborns were good plows. A picture would be nice to confirm what model it is. If it what I expect it is, I would say a value of $200 to $350 if it's in good shape. However, it depends on what you plan to use it for and what you are pulling it with. The Dearborns I have seen without trip protection (in my opinion) should not be pulled by anything bigger than 30 or 35 HP, and care must be taken not to snag a large rock or root, or the plow can be damaged. Personally, I would not a get a plow without trip protection, regardless of cost. I am not sure if any Dearborns were made with trip protection. Most I have seen did not have that feature. I bent the frame of mine the first time I used it.

If it is a 2 piece setup dearborn, wear parts are impossible to fine. A 3 piece has parts availability. Ken Sweet

I had one of these plows that had the three peice bottoms. (parts are available for them) I sold mine which was mint....and had the coulters and rolling landside (rear wheel) for $475. Good little plows like this are getting harder to find and will bring a good price.....but lots of worn ones are out there too.

Price is very much dependent on location. Any plow that's still useable is going to sell for at least $150 and even then it will be bought by someone who will clean it up, paint it, and then asked $350 or more. The last 2 bottom Dearborn I saw in CL locally was over $450, it was in great shape and included an extra new point. Not sure if it was a 2 piece or 3 piece though. I know it didn't have trip protection so I didn't even look at it as I have lots of rocks, ledge, and roots. What type of land will you be using it on? Are there lots of things you could get caught on?
