How big a plow are you guys putting on the front of a tractor for snow removal ? Have a 2538 Mahindra ,,, looking @ a 7?6 used plow to adapt to my new Titan QA / 3 pt hitch set up for my FEL...

The highest percentage of people would use an 84" wide blade for a Mahindra 2538.

I have a 10' box pusher....5083E JD. I had as big as a 96" plow on a sub-frame mount for an L3400. I had some issues pushing that uphill with one set of chains and loaded rears.

I run a similar size tractor and adapted a 7' 6" truck plow to a QA plate and ran hyd. lines from one rear remote to the front for power angle. Also run a 7' blower on the back.

Plow angle at 45 degrees should clear rear tires least 6" so they say...start at 7'6".

I run a 7' 6" Meyer plow on my tractor. Used to be on a Ford Ranger. I'm also in CT, saw a plow on CL in MA that looks good. If the hydraulic cylinders work, it would make a great plow for a tractor.

I think you will be fine.

Just take smaller bites if necessary.

The issue is going to be pushing the tractor sideways. Running at full angle, and the plow a good ways ahead of the front axle....has alot of lateral leverage. But again, you can just take smaller bites.

I use a 7'6" Diamond unit with my Titan 3PT QA on my LS XR4140 unit. Its more than capable. If I had the option again, use the same size plow.

Picked up a 3 trip spring Meyers plow : 7’-6” on Saturday .... guy kept lowering his price as we talked ... think the angling pistons are seized up... the hydraulic hose couplings are rusted together... overall the plow is in decent shape... just looking for a couple local welders to call me Back now to see about fabrication of a couple brackets to weld onto the plow frame that I can then attach to the 3 point mounts. Already scooped out new pistons & hoses... just trying to decide on the 3 rd function valve assembly I’ll need if I want to power Angle the plow or just pivot the blade and pin it where I want it...

Are you looking to use this on the front or rear of your tractor? Look at my previous post, I didn't have to weld anything, I just bought the correct quick attach plate and everything connected up. I ran lines from my rear hydraulic connections to angle the plow. We got a couple feet of snow and ice this weekend and everything worked great.

The plate I used: Three Point Adapters - Quick Tach Attachments - Tractor Attachments

Go with the hydraulic angle. I did the manual pivot for 1 season, and then ran hoses from the back of the tractor to the front to control the plow angle. Will also come in handy if you get a grapple.

Was able to repair my plow this week, got the broken pin out and replaced both with new. Of course, its too cold to snow now!

Thought about running hydraulics from the rear as well, however my rear lines are set up to feed my backhoe..yes I have quick connect fittings .... but
I don’t have a rear remote hydraulic control in the cab.... so I would need to have valve fed from the rear lines with a control of sorts to the cab & then run lines underneath up to the loader ...

I have the same QA plate. Issues are that the plow mount pin is 5/8 & the 3 point mount pin is 1-1/8 .... see the problem ?

What about using a sleeve? I have cat 2 on my tractors lower links and I use cat 1 attachments all the time

I have an old western plow (which now needs a new cutting edge after a few seasons of use). It’s 7’6””. I used to ha e it sit far out like the diamond blade posted on here but it seemed to add stress to the plow side bracket. I had it cut down and brought in a little. Works fantastic. Mine is not hydraulic yet as I keep wanted to add the cylinders. I already have third function to control it but just can’t seem to find the time

Coupled with the from blade, I use a Servis 8’ rear blade offsetso I am clearing about 9’ whole traveling down the road. I just wish my front blade was hydraulic.

Here's how I mounted my plow. Welded on two boxes to the quick attach plate where the A frame of the plow attach via pins. Welded on a D ring to attach the plow's lift chain to. When I curl the plate backwards, it picks the plow up so I don't actually have to lift the loader arms unless I need to get the plow more than 18" high.
