Plow Weights

Here is a picture of plow I need to make weights for. I think I will make some concrete forms and make blocks to go in the trays. Also will include eyelets so they can be lifted off and on. We had just unloaded the plow with the boom pole and had not taken the pole off. Kinda made for an unconventional tpl for the unit.

Hey Guys, I have an idea.

I don't have a set of discs or plow, but an idea. Around here the local police and FBI and club firing ranges let you dig the lead out of the earth backstop for free. I used to dig up lead for sinkers. I could dig a 100lbs in a couple hours. Just a thought.

Here is a pic of my disc. It is also on its own thread. My disc started life looking just like yours. I then made the frame but then REALLY needed extra weight. My old flex and drag frame was shot. the two halves of the 50 gallon drum hold all the weight I need. Currently they have old brake discs and bricks in them!

Looks like a nice unit. Casting some concrete will work great. Adding blocks onto the trays works too. As well as tying RR iron or ties on, or 55 gal barrels cut in 1/2 & filling with rocks or scrap. Lots of different ways to get the job done. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In my neck of the woods, it would just be called a disk. Some folks call it a disk-harrow.

A disc-plow is a whole different thing, with only 1-4 large disk blades each mounted on it's own individual bracket. Looks just like a molboard plow.

Just thought you'd want to know.
