I have a cat. 0 brinly plow that I used on my Honda RT5000,but up graded to a real compact so I could use cat. 1 tools(easier to find than the cat. 0)plus just bought 8 acres.
my ? can I use this on my IH 234 if I change the pins?

I expect you can. I have several implements that I use with my Cat 1 Kubota but can also use with my old Honda 5518 with Cat 0 hitch if I install the 0 pins facing inward.
If the Cat 0 pins on your blade are installed facing out, all you can do is try the 1 pins- you might have to drill out the mounting holes.

Another option is to leave the cat o pins and just use the cat 0-to cat 1 bushings. They simply slide on and make the pin the right diameter for the cat 1 sockets. That way you can use it for either application.

Keep in mind that a cat 0 implement is a tad lighter duty, and a cat 1 tractor can make a pretzle out of a cat 0 implement.. so be carefull.

Soundguy makes a good suggestion I've seen mentioned elsewhere at these web forums. However, as I understand it, the problem for the RT5000 application is that the rear PTO for a Cat 0 accessory turns at 2000 RPM whereas most Cat 1 applications turn a little over 500 RPM.

Therefore, it would seem prudent to slowly engage and throttle up the PTO with a Cat 1 accessory to see IF it can handle the PTO revolution speed being delivered otherwise the Cat 1 accessory could be damaged in the process.

Additionally, the Cat 1 accessory might not get enough torgue at 500+ rpms' to operate properly and/or the RT5000 may stall at the lower end RPM when working at the Cat 1 accessories needed load.

Good luck.

DO NOT TRY to run the 540 implements above 540 rpm. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS and will void your warranty.
CAT 0 has nothing to do with PTO speeds.

Always wanted to see if my tiller wouldn't turn faster, but never had nerve enough to try it; scared it might hurt me and the tiller both. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
