Well either you have to add a 3rd function valve or if you have rear hydraulic remotes you can run it off one of those and run hoses to the front of the tractor and do it that way.

If you have rear remotes, you can do the long hose thing, or you can get a selector/diverter valve and do it right.

Mount the diverter valve on the loader cross member.

Use a switch to select between the curl and grapple.

A true 3rd function will also get the job done and can be mounted on the loader cross member.

Agreed.

I wouldn't say running lines from the rear is "wrong". Its just another option and I'm satisfied with how it works on mine and it was less expensive. If I made a living with it, and that half second to switch hand positions mattered, then maybe I'd justify the diverter valve method. Think it over and go whichever way you'll be happier with.

Here is the diverter to make it simple.

Mount up front.

Add switch to joystick lever.

Default circuit is curl using A-B ports.

With voltage applied, grapple circuit C-D ports is activated.

On my particular tractor the rear remote valve control is so convenient to access (especially after I lengthened it) that I lose no time in reaching it from the loader joystick control. If I had to reach several inches to a side lever, I would rethink my choice. I contend I can operate my control nearly as fast as a divertor or 3rd function button setup, or at least fast enough to not make a difference. But each application will be different.
