*****This is Leo's wife Lisa responding, as Leo has never had poison oak rash in his life and I've been to emergency dozens of times for the shots......Never wipe your sweaty face off with your hands after hanging on to bare bush branches in the woods....LOL!!!****
I was going to suggest cornstarch or calamine lotion, but I just thought of something that's probably never been used before to treat it, and should work because of the method poison oak uses to give you the rash. ( The urishiol (?) sinks into the next layer of skin so if you can wash it off fast enough before it gets through, or put a good barrier (like soaping up your body parts well, and letting the soap dry on) you can probably prevent the worst of it.)
Try buying some 2% Salicylic Acid from your drug store. It's usually sold in a cleansing lotion form for acne blemishes and facial cleaning. It should not damage your skin -more than what the poison oak's done to it- and I think it'll dry up the poison oak oil and blistered skin really quick. Let me know if this works and I'll put it in for a science prize....lol
