I can understand 'too fast for conditions' when roads are slippery. Most public drivers don't have a lot of experience in adverse conditions. There are times when traffic stops are reasonable. But there are those other times. I was going to work one morning in a big city many years ago. I hated traffic, so I'd go in early, before rush hours. Five lane interstate freeway, 65MPH speed limit, clear dry pavement, warm weather, full daylight, not a single other car on the road. I was the only one in sight. Until I caught the lights in my mirror. They said I was doing 80. Could have been, don't really know. At the time in that area, they would sit stationary on ramps and clock passing traffic. Knowing that, I always wondered how fast they would have to be traveling from a standing stop to overtake a car running 80. I guesstimated at least 120. Which of us was creating a greater hazard?
