I can't be exactly sure what is in my storage tanks, so I filled the GMC up with station Diesel while in town. That should be temperature/formula correct. Equipment not working is one thing, but ones truck has to be reliable.
It's one thing to have to walk a ways to the house in the cold weather, but getting stranded when you may not be able to get someplace warm isn't good.

Mine is in the garage and ready to do nothing. I find it funny the news and everyone on social media is blowing this out of proportion. It seems ridiculous.

My sister got a ticket in Brownsburg for going 45 in a 55 zone. It was snowing and the cop said she was driving too fast for the conditions. Your area shuts down with 3" of snow. We laugh at anything south of U.S. 30.

I recall going to a dairy farm over off of 23 and Crumstown HWY the last time it was this cold. I'd never been in a dairy barn before. It was warm in there. I never new cows had high temps compared to humans.

Back in the day it was called WINTER..Folks crap there pants if we get more than 4 inches of snow or its below zero..

Most logic Ive read tonight. It seems that there is always cause for alarm. Common sense no longer rules.

I can't say I mind winter. Major cold, not so nice. But carrying all that extra clothing in the vehicle is a pain. Always the contingencies. You wear light boots and a jacket to go into town, but bring heavy winter gear just in case. Then take it all out when back at home.

And don"t forget the folks that run to the supermarket and clear the shelves thinking they might starve to death.LOL...

One million pounds of brine sprayed on the streets of Atlanta yesterday. Minor protection for this blistering frigid cold blast with temps plummeting to 23*. Schools shut down for this week for sure.

Makes me yearn for good ole' warm Texas winters of record setting 32*.

The Village of McLean solved the problem

Isn't that the truth..........you nailed it!

I did add, "Today" to your comment just for clarification.

You can plug equipment in and get it going, but not heat the hydraulics and transmissions, so I am just doing nothing. The cold can't be good for seals.

Hmmmmm,,,, I didnn't think of about the seals being damaged.
I will put the battery tender on it - just because. I do not intend to start equipment just for the heck of it.......

These temps do have me wondering what is the anti-freeze "potency" of my windshield washing fluid in my daily driver though....

10 outside with a stiff wind. 66 inside and the LP FA furnace hasn't been on all night. Been a bunch'a wood chunks chunked in the little cast iron stove though. Fans behind it haven't been on full time either.

Bevin is a DA, and self absorbed want to be dictator.

Its colder then has been in some time and not all folks have the winter wear to deal with the stuff. Now put kids in the stuff which don't pay attention and they could wind up in trouble.

Six degrees and schools are out (mails here) I guess their heating systems won't handle these cold temps. I like this snow, cleaned the walk and deck with a broom. I've used up more than half my firewood, I usually burn a cord and a half but this year I've all ready burned a cord (4x4x8 feet) so I guess I will cut and split some more in the next couple of weeks, I 'spect we'll have more of this weather. Got to go take care of the chickens and goats, although they don't seam to mind these temps.
God bless and stay warm.

14 degrees with bright Sun. The inch or so of snow that fell overnight is completely melted on my blacktop driveway.
