At the time I had a 6X4 Gator and I test drove a Gator HPX as the XUV had not been released. I really wasn't impressed with the ride of the HPX, it was rough. It seemed well built though. I had driven also driven a diesel Mule some at work and it was Ok, but I didn't thing it was as trail oriented as the Ranger. I had my decision narrowed down to the Ranger or the Kubota RTV 900. The 900 is a beast. It is built like a tank and I liked the hydraulic dump. It came down to what I would be using it mostly for and that was for trail and fun. The RTV was just too much for trail riding.

In my original video I showed all of the storage compartments. I had to cut that out to make the video small enough to show on YouTube. Instead of pictures, I will load the beginning segment in it's entirety.

Yes the tailgate does detach like on a pickup truck. That dirt was pushing so hard against the tail gate that I was pulling really hard and up some and it came off. Nothing broke, it was just in how I was pulling on it. That was the first time it had been removed.

Thanks:)

tractor4u,

Good video, Great Commentary person, Katelyn made it perfect. Tell her that Two Guns would love her to do our RTV video one day in our swamps here in Louisiana. Our children is grown & gone, so I cannot drive and film also, plus, I donated my video camera to someone that had a newborn, so one day, I will replace it. Only pics taken are on the Cuddebacks for the deer.
Them 589's is the stuff for the utiltiy vehicles. We are running 27" 589's on our RTV's .... and love 'em !!!!

Tell Katelyn that Mrs. Two Guns enjoyed the video also, she done a great job !!!

I really sweated which tires to get and I am glad I went with the 589s. I sometimes see how far I can go without locking in the 4 wheel drive. Those 589s really dig in. Before I got them, someone told me that I wouldn't be able to do donuts because they do hook up so well. I will guarantee you that with 40hp, it will do some donuts. That will have to be my next video.

One more thing, you mentioned all the storage compartments. Could you take some pictures of them as that is something that I am curious about as I love our Traxter because it has a huge storage box in the front that was not common for an ATV at the time (and maybe it still isn't). That thing has proved to be extremely useful as it is usually holding a chain (You never know when you will need a chain), clevis, couple cans of wasp spray, gloves, Bombardier supplied tool box, a few shed antlers that haven't found their way out yet as well as a few other things and there is still room.

Here is the video showing the storage compartments. It is the full clip from the first segment.

i run in 2 wheel drive with the rear wheels locked most of the time when i'm in the mud that way when i get stuck i can pull the lever and wam i on my way agian and if i still don't move well then it's winch time. but most of the time the 589's pull me out.

Thanks, that storage box under the driver seat looks handy for what I normally store in the storage box on the Traxter. Thanks for posting the second video.

Is that digital gauge on the dash something you put on or is a option for the ranger?

That is an after market speedo. In 2006 the Ranger did not come with one. Now they do.
