Pole Barn advice

What kind of amperage capability did you run from your house to your barn? What size and type of wire did you use?

I want to get electric out to mine soon and am hoping to do a 100 amp circut out there ...

100 amp service. The electrician got the wire for the run to the subpanel... all I can tell you was that the run was about 100' and it's a heavy gauge aluminium wire (2 hot, 1 neutral, one ground). I'm not sure about the specs on it other than that.

Inside it's all 12/2 romex.

You will love those new drills. I just bought the whole set with the drill, impact driver, circle saw, sawzall, and the a light. It's cost $575.00 but so far they were worth every penny. I took the circle saw out of the box and put one of the batteries in and used it for two days sawing roof rafters and ceiling joist without ever charging the battery. That new 20v stuff is kick azz I still can't believe how that little saw cuts and how long the batteries last. Oh, and good job on the garage.:laughing:

Off topic, I got the 3.0 Ah 1/4" impact, 1/2 hammer drill, circular saw, the light and 2 extra batteries about a month ago. The tools sure impress me. I can't get over the saw.

Yeah you have to be careful with that little impact I was using it to tighten up some 5/16 bolts and that thing would rip them off before you know it. It snapped one off and I was thinking, oh that must have been a stressed out bolt. I went and got a new one out of the box and tried it again and dang if it didn't snap another one off before I could turn lose of the trigger. Those things need an adjustment on them to tame them down a little.:laughing: And yeah those saws are bad azz too.

Thanks ... I will consider the advice despite you being a Bengals fan ... Seems to be the Ohio team to like this year, though. I know I know ... back to pole barns.

WHO DEY! I'm not a fair weather fan, I've rooted them on every losing season :thumbsup:

Oh yeah... pole barn... I got the bill for the electrician today. The materials listed for the wire are 115' of 2/2/2/4 wire. Hope this helps.

I'm working on getting concrete poured now.

I've decided to go ahead and add some loft space to get some of the junk off the floor...

Setup while working on installing the first couple floor boards...

The rest of them waiting to be lined up and screwed in.

Pretty much done with the floor, I need to get some stuff moved up there now.
