Pole Barn VS Red Steel building - Need some more advice

36' x 48' x 14' + 2 big doors, Morton building (unfinished inside) with 5" concrete floor, cost me just under 12K, 34 years ago.
I wonder what that would cost now?

Ours will be 30x50x16. $40,000 turnkey. No concrete though, I will do that later myself.

I wonder you don't see 32', 34', 36' x whatever, only 30'? I need a 34'x34' pole barn or steel building.

You can get any size you want. I think though some sizes are standard which keeps material cost lower. Also it has to do with post and or main frame spacing.

Well that was painful. Just got off the phone with the (somewhat local) Morton guy. He is quoting me $50 a sq ft. Yes, I am not kidding. For those of you who spent 20K on a barn 10 years ago, you are sitting on a goldmine.

I had this 14' X 40' X 60' red iron put up in summer 2015 for under $40,000. including concrete, me hanging the doors.

I built a 12' X 40' X 50' pole barn by myself at my last property! I did have a 6000 lb Yale Forklift helping me.
I bought old power poles cut to 6" X 6" from a local guy for $2. a foot. Creosote still dripping from them.

Nice barn what size and how many stalls ?

Well that was painful. Just got off the phone with the (somewhat local) Morton guy. He is quoting me $50 a sq ft. Yes, I am not kidding. For those of you who spent 20K on a barn 10 years ago, you are sitting on a goldmine.

We built in 2009. Ours is a 36'X48' with 5 stalls, tack room with washer/dryer &HVAC, bathroom, and wash rack. Morton did the walls, concrete, and fly spry system. I sub-contracted out the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, septic, burglar & fire alarm system, and dirt pad with select fill. My Morton salesman recommended that as his prices would be too high. Morton's share was $75,000 which works out to about $43/sq ft. All total I have about $100,000 in it so $58/sq ft.

If I had to do it again I wouldn't hesitate a minute. Morton's people are top notch. You couldn't find a nail or screw in the grass after they left. Any left over lumber I got to keep if I wanted it. Trash was picked up every night and placed in their trash trailer. They furnished their own port-o-potty separate from the GC's potty. They worked great with my subs. I have had zero issues with the Morton part of the building. Did have some HVAC issues but my sub changed out the whole system under warranty.
