What’s the weight of some of your pole saws? Mine is a Stihl HT101 and weighs 16.3 pounds. No wonder it feels heavy, it is.

I see shipping weight on mine as 12.7 pounds. Add a few pounds for extension.
I don't have a good scale to weigh this.

I looked up the weight of the M18, I assume the weight includes battery and extension, it looked like 16.8 pounds.

Not a big deal. I’m just thinking out loud but I think a pole saw woukd have to weigh about 10 pounds before it would feel a lot better.

OK, I got some surprising results!! I went out and did it with our backpack scale.

Stihl KM 131R kombi with saw attachment, 15lbs

Echo power head with with saw attachment, 16lbs

This is funny because the Stihl KM 131R power head is much heavier than the Echo, but is easier to cut overhead branches with since its weight is at the bottom.

Echo has a lighter power head and heaver saw.

That is interesting, I think I’ll stick with what I’ve got. The balance of mine is what wears me out, it seems nose heavy. What I’ve got works really well I just thought there might be something a little easier on my body.

So M18 had it's first issue with the pole saw. Chain was not being oiled.
Took the oil tank off and got the gear (metal) driven pump off.
All pretty easy.

Cleaned off the excess grease and spun it up with a drill on low, no oil.
Switched to high and spun the pump up, and oil starting coming out.

Somehow got clogged. Oil was fresh from a jug that is brand name.
Wondering if something was already in the tank or line.

Used the Pole saw for another hour, all good.

All the parts inside looked well made.

I owned a Echo PPT260 years back but sold it after not needing it for many years.

Got to use a Husky 525 pole saw other day. Impressed how quite it was. Well balanced for use and a real 2 stroke.

Traded chainsaw labor work for a local tree guys labor on a tree that started hanging over shop.
