Sandman,

nicely put!!

I keep telling people the same thing, my brother did not believe me until after the 1994 'asault weapon' ban. He said that was no big problem to him, then they started in on sniper rifles and some others. That is when he realized they would not be happy until all guns are gone. He bought an AR and is now a real pro gun guy. It just took a lot to wake him up. Hopefully others will wake up soon.

As for joining the NRA i belive yoor money for memberships can not be used for legal Represenation and you have to donate to another Arm of the NRA NRA-ILA :: About

A few non traditional ways to Promote firearm ownership

1.Take a non shooter shooting. Ive done this and got a few ANTI-Gun family members to change there views once we had some range time.
2. Promote posistive gun news on Websites you visit..Such as headlines like "Concelaed Weapon Owner Carrier Stops Attack of Thugs"

Good luck

Here is something I would like to share with all. Remember we have armed gangs, People not caught for violent crimes, violent former felons, etc walking the street that outnumber the number police officers in everywhere.

who in the world is trying to ban semi auto guns?

Mornin Schmism,
I think Ive lost track of all the groups trying to take away our weapons, not necessarily semi auto, just everything that is capable of shooting a bullet period !

As far as the video, it was informative for someone that knows nothing about guns. I have always owned guns, certainly not a gun guru as some members on TBN, but I dont believe they told me anything I wasnt aware of before.

It would be an excellent video for John Q Public to view ! IMHO.

Being landowners we have the opportunity to shoot on our own property as oppsoed to city people. We cherish our rights to do so and most here are firearms owners.
Today its banning Semi auotmatic firearms, tommorow its a scoped Bolt gun (aka Sniper rifle).

A good video link below to pass along if you get the chance to the ill-informed.

BTW, The Right To Bear Arms is NOT about hunting so remember this next time someone brings up legislation.

YouTube - The Truth About Semi-Auto Firearms

Amen to that. He mentioned media - IMHO all media workers will go straight to the **** and the devil will poke them with a pitchfork (thats my country fairytails talk here;)) - because they stire so much evil in their lifes.

The last time I checked

The 2nd amendment was a RIGHT not a privilege.

The only problem I see with the video is that he states that only law enforcement and the military may own full automatic weapons. That is not true and the 6 full automatic submachine guns and machine guns in my weapons vault are owned leagaly. All you have to do to own a full automatic weapon is apply for and purchase a ATF tax stamp. It's about a 4-6 month process but it's not hard. Fill out the ATF Form 4 along with the background info paperwork and a finger print card, mail in your application and wait several month's while they do a background investigation on you and then they send you your tax stamp. Once you have it you can go pick up your full automatic weapon at the store.

In anycase it was a good informative video for the ill informed.

That is not true in all 50 States. Where I live, you can't own an automatic weapon...doesn't matter what the Federal law says, they give States the option to enact stricter laws. I don't agree with it one bit, but since I don't really want an automatic weapon, I just shrug.

Contrary to what some people think the National Guard isn't the militia, WE are. JMHO but Homeland Security is a bunch of crap; any honest effort would get everyone involved.

You are correct my friend except for one small detail. It IS a right. God Bless America.

There are LEO's out there who have a big difference of opinion from that of the officer in the video. Not saying who is right or wrong, just a fact.

Laws change.

Half the people who own guns in the U.S shouldn't because you have some real big idiots out there that can hardly read the application form, and think that a Miller and Remington go together (not all, not even the majority, but you need to weed them out).

That said, no way in heck could you get me to move back to New York, Maryland, Mass or Kalifornia. What I call the **** states. In those states you don't have idiots who apply for guns, they run the state instead (IMO).

By the way, per another post here pertaining to magazines, you want to stock up on the 30's, not the 10's.
