I can attest to the power of an over presurized drum I got one messed up knee 10" gash on my stomac! and lived While was laying in the hospital i saw on the tv that some one did the same thing and and died. the drun went 65' I got hit by the head and it drive me back about 25 ft.

no presurized drums for me!!!!!!

I bought one of these Harbor Freight pumps because it was on sale and I thought it was an air driven pump. Either mine is defective or it looks like just pressurizes the drum. The cylinder that I thought was a pump I believe is just a way to get the air in and the fuel out of the same bung hole.

I have safety concerns that can be minimized - it has a pressure relief and regulator on the unit and you could add some redundant ones as well. But will water in the air lines cause these to freeze up in the winter?

I am also concerned about adding all that moisture to the fuel. I have a large oil/water separator on my compressor and often have a smaller one down stream and water still comes out when using large volumes of air.

I had hoped that these were air driven pumps that I could just stick into a fuel container and go.

Dirthog is right. Be careful putting pressure on drums. 10 pounds doesn't sound like much, but I wouldn't want to be near it if it let go. Being in the fuel business, I've seen some scarry stuff happen with drums.
