And then there were th 'stretchy' straps that allowed one to get a running start. They must have been oulawed as I haven't found one in over 20 years.
Nope, they still make them. They seem like a pretty solid idea as long as neither end becomes loose. The chances of a vehicle pulling out another stuck vehicle on traction alone is slim and usually people resort to jerking on solid chains and straps. I’ve never had one but a stretchy rope seems like a good thing.
